Random Thoughts

1. Col & Niamho
Awwww we all had a lovely chat on Skype there the other day. I miss my siblings... a lot!

2. Bolivia

One giant Penneys... except its a country.

3. Unfinished business

Walking around La Paz I noticed that NONE, NOT ONE, of the houses are finished. Most of the houses are 3 stories tall but only the bottom two stories have glass windows! I asked a local what was this all about.... There is a house tax on finished houses in Bolivia of 80% of the houses value, so no one bothers to finish their house so they dont have to pay the tax! CRAZY!

4. Loosing my life
Agh so I lost my bloody wash bag.... I left it in the bus station in shitty Puno (god I hate that place and night buses for making me sleepy and off my guard!) Hairbrush, shampoo, conditioner, razor, creams etc ALL GONE. I'm devastated but hey all replaceable and it could have been worse!

5. Wild Rover
CRAZY... Why am I staying here again?! Nothing good can come of it!!

6. San Pedro
La Paz has a prison called San Pedro, but this is no ordinary prison as it is RUN BY THE PRISONERS..... & TOURISTS (who are willing to risk their lives) CAN GO IN.
There is a book about it which I have yet to get my hands on but apparently, originally the prison did have an open policy of some sort with prisoners. One prisoner went out one night and ended up bringing back an Israeli girl to the prison (unknown to her that she was in a prison). He saw how easy it was to get people in.....So that's how the whole thing started!!!! Crazy.
